CEO of ICANN sets target date for TLD delegation
15th February, 2013Fadi Chehadé – the CEO of ICANN – has surprised a few in the industry by setting what some have called an “aggressive” timeline for the first new TLD delegation.
The CEO of ICANN, Fadi Chehadé has set a target date of April 23 for the first new TLD delegation, which some have classified as “aggressive.”
Despite admitting that the timeline isn’t set in stone, Chehadé stated that if the date were to be pushed back, it would be by days or weeks, and not months.
Additionally, if the registrars are required to adopt the new registrar accreditation agreement (RAA), problems could arise. According to the public record, RAA negotiations haven’t been completed.
